Root Nokia X, X+ and XL using Framaroot


These are the instructions to root Nokia X, X+ and XL using Framaroot Application on Phone itself (does not require computer).
Requirements: Your Nokia X, X+ and XL smartphone should have at-least 10-20 percent of phone battery to perform the rooting process.

Step 1: Enable installation of 3 party Apps on your Nokia X, X+ and XL. To Enable, Open Settings > Security > Device Administration >Unknown Sources (tick to enable it).

Step 2: Download and install Framaroot Application on your Nokia X, X+ and XL smartphone. Once installation is completed you will be able to see the Framaroot Icon in the App Menu.

Step 4: Once Framaroot Application is launched you will be able to see the following screen on your Device:

Step 5: In Framaroot, You will be able to see 2 options i.e Aragorn and Gandalf. Tap on the Gandalf Option.

Step 7: Now, you have to restart your Device.
Step 7: Now your Nokia X, X+ and XL smartphone is Rooted. To check whether your phone is rooted correctly, open Applications Menu, there you will be able to see a new app installed, called SuperSU. If this app exist then it means you have successfully rooted your device.

  • Next select the “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card” option.

    2. Download the Clockwork Mod Recovery image from here and place in your adb/tools folder.

    10. In recovery, navigate to the mounts and storage option and select it.
    11. In the mounts and storage section, choose mount usb sdcard.
    12. Place the GRJ90ODEX.zip stock rooted ROM on your sd card.
    13. Navigate to unmount and select it, then choose go back.
    14. Once back at the main menu, navigate to the install zip from sdcard option and select it.
    15. Select choose zip from sdcard.
    16. Select the previous file: GRJ90ODEX.zip
    17. Once completely flashed, select reboot system now.

      • Download Unroot file given above. 
      • Uninstall all the Rooted apps 
      • Do the same procedure as did before but this time instaed of "update.zip" select "unroot.zip" 

      There your Y Duos is Unrooted Successfully!!!

      • Install Nexus 4 toolkit in your PC. 
      • During installation it will ask you which Nexus 4 you are using. 
      • Select the device and hit enter for next step. 
      • Type 1 and hit enter to install the drivers.
